IS THE AWARENESS PROGRAM SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN?

No, because it hasn't been scientifically researched yet, but the consciousness program resembles: 

  1. mindfulness. Mindfulness has many facets that have been researched and proven to be effective. Although this program was developed independently of the mindfulness method, it also has its origin in Asia. The main guidelines therefore seem to be copied from the mindfulness method. 

  2. the rational-emotional behavioral therapy of Albert Ellis, the REBT, this therapy has been declared scientifically proven. Ellis saw his own method as a way of life rather than a quick-fix method. The awareness program is not therapy but rather the way of life that Albert Ellis talked about. Practicing this together is extra impactful, because gained insights can be shared, which results in very meaningful sessions for all participants.  

  3.   meditation, Meditation has been widely researched and proven effective. A number of guidelines for meditation are reflected in the guidelines of the awareness program.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS (PSYCHO) THERAPY?

Only 15% of the effect of psychotherapy appears to be due to the technique or method used.

  • - 40% spontaneous improvement (intention, factors outside of treatment)

  • - 15% positive expectations (placebo effect)

  • - 30% General factors: (therapeutic relationship "click" between therapist and client, relationship, eye for situation)
