What is difficult about self-expression, what can you learn / practice?
For most people talking is easy, but real self-expression is different, personally I find it difficult and I am not alone, some may not even realize it. It involves telling the truth, not lying or hiding the truth, and having the guts to share when something is bothering you. It's about feeling, sharing feelings. Feeling requires awareness. Consciousness requires listening (tuning). Listening to yourself and to others. Now it is sharing. Share what's going on for you. This sharing sometimes takes a lot of courage. Due to the presence of others, all kinds of thinking patterns can emerge in yourself. Discovering and acknowledging these thinking patterns is liberating. It clarifies the ridiculousness of our thinking.
By following the guidelines (provided on the homepage) during the session, you will get a glimpse into yourself, your thoughts, your beliefs and how this affects your behavior.
People say things, but most of us don't have the courage to be honest (to be ourselves) in public.
Afraid of being judged, worse of not being accepted, terrified of being rejected.
(on an unconscious level, fear of loneliness )
What is ultimately possible in a safe environment, where you are not judged, you do not have to defend yourself and where you can say things without receiving personal criticism.
There you can feel loved, or at least supported and connected, even after sharing your shortcomings, which are normally covered for fear of not being good enough (fear of not being accepted or rejected).
Having the courage to be honest with people and possibly lose them as a result, sharing your vulnerable stories (including your fears or your stupidities) takes bravery but will connect you on a much deeper level than the pretty superficial photos on Facebook, Linked -In or Instagram because people will appreciate and recognize your honesty and also themselves in you (story).
In other words, they will recognize themselves and their own shortcomings in you.
Isn't it true that you like the very people who look like you?
You will realize by listening to others that deep down we are all the same, this will allow you to share your secrets or fears with others if necessary, and more and more people will open up to each other and begin to realize that it is shows that we are all very similar, and this makes you feel like you belong.
Not judging and not making assumptions (that you already know) creates an opening to listen and understand others. Having a deep understanding of others gives you insight into yourself, this allows you to make peace and connect with yourself and others. Accepting yourself as you are, accepting others as they are makes you feel good enough. The feeling of compassion for yourself and others. (the Dalai Lama's message of peace)
Feeling supported and understood and having a place where it is safe to talk about your needs, desires or emotions (fears and love) is very valuable to every human being.
Especially in difficult times, be it financial or your health
It will reduce your stress level and you will feel more connected
How does it work?
(text from the video on homepage)
When people come to true self-expression, start to share themselves, their feelings (and thoughts) from the 'here and now': (then a number of things happen):
-
Then people actually start to listen, free of “confirmation bias”, this is the tendency to pay more attention to information that confirms your thought / ideas and to deny / disprove the rest.
-
If you dare to share what is going on deep inside, you will be seen, recognized. People will recognize themselves in you, they will see / recognize their own humanity.
-
This paves the way for others to do the same to share themselves, then you will recognize yourself in them. This recognition of 'who we are' creates a deep mutual connection, forgiveness and reconciliation of each other and of yourself.
Be honest with yourself / each other
Being vulnerable is a quality that requires bravery
In unity we are strong, a world that accepts you and me, including our shortcomings
